Variable: delete-by-moving-to-trash ¶

If non-nil (nil is the default), some file deletion commands using the function move-file-to-trash instead of deleting them outright. These commnds include:

• delete-file
• delete-directory
• ‘Dired’ deletion commands

The variable can be customized.
